The Faculty of Health & Society in association with the Northamptonshire Dementia Research & Innovation Centre (UoN) is presenting its Future Directions in Dementia Care Conference & Exhibition

On Tuesday 14 November, 2017

 The conference will focus on innovative community-based interventions for people living with dementia and their carers. The event will provide an opportunity to network with others who are currently designing, developing, and delivering new community-based innovations and solutions in dementia care within Northamptonshire, from across the UK, and beyond.

 It offers the potential to develop greater collaborations and partnerships. World class renowned experts and contributors will highlight examples of good practice of both emerging and new initiatives which are aimed at promoting independence, reducing isolation and loneliness, and maintaining social connections.

 This Conference and Exhibition will appeal to representatives from health and social care, policy makers, local government, clinical commissioning groups, third sector organisations, people living with dementia and carers, university students and academic staff, private organisations and businesses.

 The Keynote Speakers are:-

  • Professor Alistair Burns, Professor of Old Age Psychiatry at The University of Manchester, National Clinical Director for Dementia and National Clinical Director for Mental Health in Older people, NHS England.
  • Professor Jacqueline Parkes, Director, Northamptonshire Dementia Research & Innovation Centre, The University of Northampton.
  • Professor Dawn Brooker, Association of Dementia Studies, University of Worcester.
  • Dr Charles Scerri, University of Malta, Visiting Professor at The University of Northampton, Honorary Secretary of Alzheimer’s Europe
  • Dr Janet Carter, Senior Lecturer Old Age Psychiatry, Division of Psychiatry, UCL. Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry NEL NHS Foundation Trust

Abstracts are invited for posters which are related to the conference theme.

Deadline for abstract submission is 4pm on Friday, 29 September 2017
