Detailed Description
During the tour, students will gain first-hand insight into DHL’s end-to-end logistics and supply chain operations, from inbound inventory management and warehousing to order fulfilment, packaging, sorting, and last-mile distribution networks. The visit will highlight how modern supply chain technologies—such as automated material handling systems, RF scanning devices, inventory tracking tools, and warehouse management systems (WMS)—are integrated with human expertise to ensure operational efficiency, accuracy, and speed across the supply chain.
In addition to observing physical workflows, students will develop a deeper understanding of logistics and project management principles in practice, including supply chain optimisation, quality assurance, demand-driven performance monitoring, and cross-functional team coordination. The trip will also offer valuable exposure to global supply chain networks, large-scale organisational structures, workplace safety standards, and continuous improvement frameworks (such as Lean and DHL’s First Choice strategy).
