This day will be particularly suited to newly qualified, or 18 months post qualification, physiotherapists wanting a refresher in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy practice, or physiotherapists working in speciality areas treating patients with concurrent respiratory conditions. You will explore contemporary evidence and practical key concepts in respiratory care, covering the following topics • Objective assessment of the spontaneously breathing patient. • Oxygen delivery devices and rational for use. • Evidence-based airway clearance techniques in the self-ventilating adult. • Theory and practical application of manual techniques • Application of knowledge to clinical case studies. The day is designed to foster skill enhancement, practical application and professional development in respiratory physiotherapy. You will develop your knowledge and skills to be able to: • Confidently perform a comprehensive, objective respiratory assessment • Select appropriate oxygen delivery devices for use in respiratory patients. • Develop an awareness of contemporary evidence base for the use of airway clearance in respiratory patients. • Clinically reason and practically apply manual techniques • Use a problem-solving approach to manage self-ventilating respiratory patients aligned with contemporary evidence and clinical guidelines We look forward to welcoming you for a day of learning, development and networking!
