Aimed at anyone wanting to develop their valuable listening skills, this one-day CPD course will equip you with some practical skills within the scope of counselling that you will be able to apply both in your everyday life and to support those around you.  You may be in a supporting role, want to be a better manager or just interested in hearing more about the counselling profession.  Whatever the reason, this course will provide you with the introductory elements to counselling and some take away skills that will positively impact your wellbeing and the wellbeing of those around you.

Participants will:

·       Explore the key concepts of counselling and professional issues.

·       Have the opportunity to listen and practice ‘active listening’.

·    Use skills such as reflecting, paraphrasing and summarising

·    Consider working with individuals from diverse backgrounds

·       Take part in practical exercises and group discussions.

By the end of session, you will:

·       Understand the role of counsellors.

·       Understand some ethical challenges that counsellors face.

·       Have practiced listening skills.  

·     Have engaged in reflective exercises and considered working with people from diverse backgrounds
