Aimed at Midwives, Neonatal Nurses and GP’s, this CPD study day will provide registered healthcare professionals with an overview of Public Health England (PHE) 2021 standards for the systematic examination of the newborn (NIPE) which is incorporated into the NMC Standards of Proficiency for Midwives (2019). The course includes an overview of the positive screen referral pathways, the importance of effective history taking prior to physical screening followed by a practical workshop which will introduce the four core screening elements: examination of the eyes, heart, hips and testes (in males).  This examination is offered to parents within 72 hours of birth and again at 6-8 weeks of age.

This valuable one-day course provides insight into newborn (NIPE) screening but does not lead to a NIPE qualification. It acts as a taster-day for the full 30-credit ‘Examination of the Newborn’ module, which does lead to a full NIPE qualification for healthcare practitioners.

Attendees that wish to study the full Examination of the Newborn 30 credit module with us in the future will receive a discount on the fees.

Cancellations/refunds can be processed for this event up until 15th June 2024.  Email: [email protected]
